Just Do It June

"Just Do it" June - Stop procrastinating and do it!

Doses of Uniqueness theme for June is "Just Do it"!

Welcome back to another #DosesofUniqueness!
Happy Monday! Happy June!  Today I woke up refreshed and blessed.  With everything going on in the world  (pandemic, protesting and riots) I just want to say Thank you Lord!  I know you see what's going on and I know and trust that you are still in control.

Okay, let me first start off by saying that I do have a tendency to procrastinate....  I want to make a conscious effort to change that.  I will wait to the last minute to do things like....get dress for an event/outing, start cleaning or start a new chore prior to leaving for work... sometimes it gets really bad.  But I have been trying to get up early, even on non work days and be proactive.  Getting my workouts in first, going to the grocery stores early in the morning, writing things down!  Just trying to be more organized and better at planning my day and not letting it just waste away with nothing accomplished. I want each day to have a purpose... productive, restful, educational, selfcare, etc
Now that I have enrolled in school, I am going to have to really step my game up and let go of procrastination.

Soooo - to keep myself accountable I am going to list a few things that I want to .......as Nike said "Just Do It" in June are:
  1. Wake up early- read my devotionals and bible before I do anything else, before social media, talking on the phone...continue to put God first!
  2. Work out at least 4 times a week.  I know I can do it.  I was doing it prior to the gyms closing for COVID 19.  I just have to do it!
  3. Start planning- Using my planner with time blocking.  I can spend countless hours browsing on social media, watching youtube, shopping for things I don't need...you name it... I can come up with things that will prevent me from being productive.  At work, I must say I am pretty good.  But when it comes to me and my goals...not so much... But that's changing!
  4. Journal daily!  I use to journal all the time and stopped and I noticed that was not healthy.... for me.  I need to get things off my chest and out of my mind.
  5. Saying No.  I am learning that "No" is actually a complete sentence.  I don't have to explain my reason for saying no.  Saying no is something that I struggle with.  I am always trying to show up and be there for everyone.  I will put myself last and put others needs before mine...all which are things I want to work on and change!
  6. Read!  I started reading, thanks of Nicole and AJ, when I first joined the Navy and after I Commissioned....books all the time.  I was apart of book clubs, online and local.  My friends and I would discuss over food and wine!  It was so much fun.  Then I was introduced to audible  and it was good...but lately I have been struggle to get through a book.  My book for May was "Such a Fun Age" by Kelly Reid....but it has now rolled over to my June book.  I am determined to get through that book.
  7. Organized and get rid of stuff that I am no longer using or wearing.  I must admit that when the pandemic first started, I cleaned and purged my apartment of a lot of stuff that I was holding to...not sure why I held on to those things, but it felt so refreshing letting those things go!
  8. Mind the business that minds you.  I am learning to set boundaries and not try to solve everyones problems or fix every situations.  To focus more on me and not allow other peoples problems or situations to consume me and my time.
  9. Podcast.  I have a podcast called #DosesofUniqueness as well as a YouTube Channel.  I want to start posting more on those platforms.  I do enjoy them both, I have done Get Ready with Me's on my podcast and car chronicles on Youtube while driving to work,
  10. Become more money savvy. I noticed that I spend way too much money! Money that I could be saving or investing. I want to start saving for my business, Doses of Uniqueness and paying off lingering unnecessary debt! Budget  more!   I still want to live my best life and travel, but have a budget for it!
Well, there you have it!  I have place my goals out for all to see and keep me accountable.

Until next time....
Stay safe, Take care of yourself and give someone a compliment... share some love!
